Gut Health with Dr Mel Fourie
Mel Fourie is a gut guru. She shares her wealth of insight and knowledge on how to keep your microbiome in tip top shape with Sue in this podcast episode. She has devoted the second half of her career to studying the bacteria that bring health and wellbeing to humans and there is no-one better to bring you the route to gut wellbeing. The better you eat, the more your healthy gut flora flourishes. The more your gut flora flourishes the better you want to eat to feed these bacteria and an upward spiral is set in motion. You crave healthy food, and you feel energized and vibrant and fully alive and because you have energy, you exercise more and that helps you eat better too and up and up you go. When you eat badly, you feed the unhealthy bacteria and they fill your body with toxins instead of nutrients and your energy and vibrancy goes down and so you crave more unhealthy food to get you through and down you go into a downward spiral.
