For BIPOC, skincare can feel especially difficult to understand. Since people of color have skin that reacts differently than non-melanated skin, they require a unique approach to their skincare products and skin procedures. But in a world where the skincare market is designed with pale skin shades in mind, how can BIPOC choose the right ingredients and treatments to nourish and care for their skin? The Skin Report is a podcast created to educate listeners on methods to improve skin health for people of all ethnicities and ages. On this special episode, listeners can hear an interview between The Skin Report host Dr. Sethi and Kanika Chadda Gupta on the That’s Total Mom Sense podcast. Kanika Chadda Gupta is a seasoned CNN journalist, mom of three, a woman of color, and host of the That’s Total Mom Sense podcast, where she celebrates the diversity of unique motherhood experiences. Together she and Dr. Sethi share their thoughts on how BIPOC can identify the best ingredients and treatments for their skin. They also cover additional skincare topics, including ayurvedic remedies, beauty myths, and foods for healthy skin, hair, and nails. As the founder of RenewMD Beauty Medical Spas and a woman of color, Dr. Sethi shares her insights and knowledge on determining the best skincare practices for BIPOC and melanated skin.
