The Power of Emotion to Build Trust in…the Body of Christ Part 2
The Church of Jesus Christ is the one and only Body of Christ! There are not several different bodies of Christ! Being a fellowship or congregation of the one body of Christ, we must recognize ourselves as the one family of God. As we look closely at physical families they are filled with both good and bad emotions, produces by good and bad decisions and actions on the part of each individual member. So too, we find this in the body of Christ, His family. As Christians we are called to make decisions and live lives that produce good emotions that will help each member trust one another and to help them excel in their service for the building of the body of Christ in love. This morning’s lesson will be taken from Philippians chapter one and two. First, we will study Paul’s emotions towards the brethren in the congregation of the saints in the city of Philippi. Next we will discover what produced these strong feelings of love and affection of Paul for the brethren in Philippi. Finally, we will listen to and prayerfully answer the call and commendation from Paul to abound and excel still more and more in building trust in each other through love and mutual sacrifice for one another!
